Ending Operations at Year-End
– The basis for continued operations is no longer in place, say General Manager Arild Nielsen.
The company itself will continue, but daily operations will end. Accommodations units, the canteen building and kitchen have been put up for sale, while a leased unit will be dismantled and returned in November.
Fjordbyen Innkvartering opened in summer 2021, offering housing for construction workers linked to major projects such as the new hospital, bridge and rail line.
– At times we have been fully booked, but now the market is tight and many projects are on hold. That hits us directly, Nielsen says.
The facilities are modern and well maintained.
– We can restart quickly if the market turns. We know what´s needed, but the demand must be there first, he adds.
Booking are accepted through the end of the year.
– We still operate normally, but the doors will close by Desember 31, Nielsen says.
